Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian believes that the Premier League places less importance on diet than Serie A.
The Italy international signed for United from Torino for £12.7million in the summer said recently that he “didn’t have to think twice” about joining Manchester United once he knew of their interest.
Now, he has mostly settled into life in England, but claims the “attention to nutrition” and tactics is far greater in his homeland.
“In the Premier League it is more physical and less tactical than Serie A. Compared to Italy, there is less attention to nutrition,” he said.
However, the player insists that the change of scenery had helped him.
“In England, the new experience started in the best possible way and I hope it can continue like this,” said Darmian.
“Playing in another league in another country helps you to grow in every way.”
