North American Challenger squad Team Arena Online are Team Dragon Knights once again.
League of Legends game developer and Challenger Series tournament organizer Riot Games wants to ensure that its parent company, amateur tournament organizer Arena Online, will live up on its promises to the community—notably a $1 million tournament circuit—before allowing the company to field a team under its name.
Such was the reason for the name change, until Arena Online launches their tournament circuit successfully.
Arena Online purchased TDK, making headlines earlier this year.
However, the team was relegated in July after two of its core players, mid laner Noh “Ninja” Geon-woo and AD carry Kim “Emperor” Jin-hyun, missed nearly half the season due to visa issues.
Both players were not able to compete until week five, and by that time the team had a series of losses that they could not recover from.
The team will be adding a Korean marksman and a well-known North American support who will join Ninja, top laner Shin “Seraph” Woo-yeong, and jungler Kevin “Kez” Jeon.
With that strong lineup, the team looks to repeat its successful run to the LCS a year ago.
