The Shanghai Major qualifiers concluded after a week of match-ups filled with intensity, with two teams of each region advancing to claim the coveted title.
International winners Evil Geniuses, Frankfurt Major winners OG, runners up Team Secret, TI3 winners Alliance and Russian side Virtus.pro all received direct invitations to the event.
Chinese qualifier spots were grabbed by TI5 third place finishes LGD Gaming and TI4 winners Newbee.
EHOME, CDEC Gaming and Vici Gaming were also directly invited, giving China the largest regional contingent at the event.
Team Archon took first place in the North American qualifier, with CompLexity Gaming also earning a spot.
They will be joined by Team Liquid and Team Spirit from Europe, and Fnatic and MVP Pheonix from Asia.
As the stage is set, all 16 teams will duke it out over five days for a prize pool of $3 million, with OG and Evil Geniuses considered the heavy favorites to take their second titles in six months.
The Shanghai Major Group Stage will commence on February 25, followed by the Main Event at Mercedes-Benz Arena from March 2 to 6.
