Major teams to skip ESL One Manila

As the eagerly-anticipated ESL One Tournament would commence late April, major teams are already announcing their absence from the competition.

Teams Evil Geniuses (EG) and Secret had announced through social media channels that they would be not be competing in the event.

EG team captain Peter “ppd” Dager posted on his Twitter that they declined the invitation to compete in the first ESL One tournament, taking place at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines.

The team is choosing to focus their efforts on the Shanghai Majors in March and the Manila Majors in June, while there is yet to be confirmation that they will compete in the latter tournament.

Meanwhile, Team Secret announced on Twitter too that they declined their own invitation too, and opted to participate in the Manila Major which will be the last tournament before the much awaited The International 6 (TI6).

For now, the teams competing in ESL One had not yet been announced.

Aspiring teams in the Philippines still have time to register for the open qualifiers that will start on January 24.
