Team Solo Mid has reportedly dismissed their head coach, KC “Woodbuck” Woods, representing the second League Championship Series (LCS) team in a week to do so.
Earlier in the week, European-based team Origen posted on Facebook the morning before their first match of the week that Nicolai “Hazel” Larsen would be stepping down as their head coach.
TSM informed Woods, 26, that they no longer required their services which was in turn announced by the coach on Twitter. He also informed that he would not expand upon the issue any further “out of respect for the players”.
He was previously hired by TSM for his maturity and experience as a high school pitching coach, and was brought on to facilitate players learning League of Legends rather than teaching it himself.
The dismissal was probably brought on by results. Although TSM is currently 7-3 and placed second in the LCS, it could not be the result anyone would expect of the team after bringing in an all-star roster of players who were considered the regional bests.
The team had even showed signs of improving and took consecutive 2-0 weeks, shrugging off a slow start. However, the players did not comment on the dismissal as of yet.
