Valve had announced that Dota 2’s The International 6 will run from the 8th to the 13th of August at the KeyArena in Seattle.
Qualifiers for the most anticipated Dota 2 tournament in 2016 will begin immediately after the Manila Major, with open qualifiers beginning on June 21 and regional qualifiers on June 25.
Valve had also released ticket information alongside the official date announcement. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster.com starting next week, April 7th at 10:00 PM, Seattle time and will be limited to 5 of each type per household.
Midweek tickets that allow entrance during the first four days of the tournament will cost $75, while Finals ticket for entrance during the last two days will cost $100, adding up to a total of $175 for tickets of the entire event. However, midweek ticket holders will be provided with a special outdoor spectating area on the KeyArena grounds to witness the Finals.
Furthermore, ticket holders will be able to sit wherever given that there are no special VIP tickets or seats and no predesigned seating arrangement. Valve would even be giving out extra freebies, evident in the following announcement:
“We will be dropping unique in-game items to audience members inside of the arena. At First Blood in each individual game, 500 exclusive Attendee Treasures will drop, each containing visually-unique versions of this year’s Secret Shop Immortals. To be eligible, you must have a badge linked to a Steam account and be in the arena when First Blood occurs.”
There will be more information on how to link your SteamID to your badge as the event approaches. Meanwhile, badges will be mailed to the shipping address provided to Ticketmaster during time of purchase, at no later than two weeks before TI6 kicks off.
