Natus Vincere star player, Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs is back from an elbow injury after two weeks as both his doctor and Dreamhack gave the greenlight for his participation.
The injury had kept GuardiaN from joining his team in the group stages of Dreamhack Malmo, but the team has been able to perform well in his absence and had since secured a place in the playoffs.
“I had laser and ultrasound treatment all over my right hand, had inflammation of joints of bones and inflammation of certain muscles,” Ladislav said of his injury. “They also did massage. Now should be all okay.”
With tactictian Sergey “starix” Ischuk taking his place, the team managed strong performances as the substitute presented vintage ones against Godsent and Counter Logic Gaming.
In addition to GuardiaN, there were a number of other players in the Counter Strike: Global Offensive world stage who had suffered from wrists and arm injuries.
G2 Esports’ Richard “shox” Papillon revealed that he’ll be seeking medical assistance upon his return to France.
Fnatic too, was unclucky to have their star, Olof “olofm” Kajbjer make the call to stop competing at all until a similar injury heals. His decision led to his team to drop out from the Dreamhack.
But as the playoffs begin in the weekend, Natus Vincere, with the added boost of GuardiaN are now the tournament favourites, as MLG Columbus winner Luminosity Gaming was ousted in the group games.
