Tyloo and Twistzz set to miss inaugural Eleague

China–based Counter Striker: Global Offensive team TyLoo and Team SoloMid rifler Russel ‘Twistzz’ VanDulken are set to miss the star-studded ELEAGUE tournament.

TSM has yet to announce a replacement for 16-year-old Twistzz since the Canadian was deemed ineligible for not meeting the age requirements.

Although he was added into the team lineup for just two months, TSM had begun to see drastic improvements. They won 2nd place at the CEVO S9 Professional NA Qualifier #3, and then qualified for the MLG Americas Minor. While TSM still have time to fill the spot, his absence in the team could affect their performance.

On the other hand, the entire TyLoo team looks set to miss out on ELEAGUE, following Visa and scheduling problems. Selfless Gaming will be on hand to fill in their spot in the event, entering Group B alongside G2 Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) and Optic Gaming.

The team claimed that they were invited to the event around six weeks ago at DreamHack Malmo, just after overcoming the odds to triumph against MLG Columbus champions Luminosity Gaming.

A statement from the team claimed that Turner Group, the entity managing ELEAGUE, had failed to provide the team with the letter they needed in order to secure their visas to travel to Atlanta.

The delay forced the team to choose between the strict US visa process and applying for Polish visas for the ESL Cologne offline qualifier. They chose to go with the visas for Poland, after winning the Asia Minor over Renegades to secure their spot.

This would also be the second tournament TyLoo is prevented from attending after pulling out of last weekend’s StarLadder Invitational for the same reason.

Nonetheless, the hype is boiling for the tournament. Even in the first week of broadcasts, audiences will see top teams such as Cloud9, Luminosity Gaming, Team Liquid, and Renegades compete for one guaranteed spot in the end-of-season playoffs.

Brazil’s Luminosity Gaming, a team that dominated both headlines and tournaments this year, will have the honour of kicking off the first ever ELEAGUE as they play Renegades in the first match of the season.
