Swedish eSports group Ninja in Pyjamas is the latest to join in on the fun at the Overwatch scene after signing on SG-1’s roster.
SG-1’s all-Finnish lineup had been a consistent Overwatch competitive team in Europe since the closed beta. They are currently ranked behind the top tier of Overwatch teams, but they had always shown promise and flashes.
However, there is certainty they can make a breakthrough with the support of NiP, a team that has the experience and caliber to nurture young teams to something more.
Their current Overwatch roster is as follows:
- Joonas “Zappis” Alakurtti
- Kalle “Hymzi” Honkala
- Lauri “Mafu” Rasi
- Seita “Seita”
- Joona “Fragi” Laine
- Antti “Kyynel” Kinnunem
”On behalf of the whole team, which used to be called SG-1, I want to thank NiP for this huge opportunity,” Rasi said after signing on. “We couldn’t dream for a better organization to back us up on our journey to be the best Overwatch team in the world.”
The team will make their debut in NiP immediately today, as they face up against Rogue with a place at Gamescom at stake.
NiP, universally acknowledged as a giant in the international Counter Striker: Global Offensive scene has also branched out into other eSports disciplines such as League of Legends and Dota 2.
