A move long time in the making has come into fruition as former HellRaisers AWPer Tomas “oskar” Stastny has been promoted to their starting lineup in place of rifler Johannes “nex” Maget.
Nex remains in the team, but as a substitute.
The new mousesports CS:GO roster looks as follows:
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
- Chris “chrisJ” de Jong
- Denis “denis” Howell
- Timo “Spiidi” Richter
- Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný
- Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović (coach)
- Johannes “nex” Maget (substitute)
The move comes after oskar’s contract with HellRaisers had expired, and it would be a welcome one.
Mousesports had failed to shine this year apart from their surprise run into the semifinals of ELEAGUE. Many fans believed that oskar could be the answer to the issues plaguing the team.
His debut for mousesports saw him earn a favourable performance against fnatic in Europe’s ESL Pro League Season 4, getting a quad kill and the second highest KDR in his team behind Chris “ChrisJ” De Jong.
Although the match ended 16-12 in fnatic’s favour, such a performance could arguably be taken as a positive given that the roster was new, and also given that the team was playing against the likes of Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer.
“I want to thank mousesports for putting their trust in me,” oskar said in a statement on the team’s website after joining mousesports. “I hope I can help the team to reach its goals, which are now my goals as well”
“Even with the latest improvement, we felt that we needed to give a new impulse to the team,” mousesports CEO Cengiz Tuylu said in a press release. “I am really excited to see oskar in a mousesports jersey, and I am sure so are our fans. I feel like oskar is the right fit for us, as he is not only a great player but also clicks with the team on a personal level.”
