SK Gaming, OpTic Gaming and the Immortals are set to miss the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2.
OpTic Gaming and the Immortals has decided to drop out despite making it through to the finals of the Americas qualifiers.
This came after the announcement that OpTic are moving to their new gaming house, while the Immortals have opted to skip the tournament due to clashing schedules with the open qualifiers for ELEAGUE season two.
Taking their place in the $300,000 tournament held in Kiev are Cloud9 and Flipsid3. StarLadder reached out to Cloud9 and Renegades as the next in line to the tournament – the pair being the semi-finalists of the qualifiers.
However, Australia-based Renegades have also declined because of the ECS Season 2 Development league, which is set to commence on September 9. In their stead, Flipsid3 received the invitation, and the Ukraine based team has now geared up for Kiev.
Meanwhile, SK Gaming is the third team that will also be skipping the event, with FaZe Clan announced as their replacement.
Back in Early August, SK revealed that team member Fernando “fer” Alvarenga wouldn’t be able to play for the team for the following two months due to health issues and went on to confirm dropping out from the Season 2 Finals of StarSeries as a result.
FaZe Clan, who recently welcomed former ENCE sniper Aleksi “allu” Jalli into their fold, will take their place. This will allow allu to get his offline debut with FaZe earlier than expected.
After the announced changes, the full team list for SL i-League StarSeries Season 2 Finals are as follows:
- Natus Vincere
- MVP project
