Ninja in Pyjamas had made the announcement that Jacob “pyth” Mourujarvi will return to their active lineup with immediate effect.
NiP’s first event with Jacob “pyth” Mourujarvi back on the roster will be IEM Oakland, from November 16-20, a tournament that will have $300,000 on offer.
The Swedish giants are back to the following lineup:
- Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund
- Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg
- Richard “Xizt” Landström
- Adam “friberg” Friberg
- Jacob “pyth” Mourujarvi
Pyth, 23, spent the last quarter of the year sidelined as he recovers from an hand injury. Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, a former member of NiP and free agent, played in his stead on a temporary basis.
“I got more nervous from watching the matches at home than playing them because you get a different view of the game,” Mourujarvi told NiP’s website. “Sometimes when they lost I wish I could do something about it. It feels really good to be back again with the boys. Thanks for the support and everyone that believes in me!”
In pyth’s absence, NiP was still able to perform well in competitions, winning the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2 and finishing third-fourth at the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals.
Before Saturday’s match against G2 Esports in the group stage of ELEAGUE Season 2, Maikelele hinted that it could be his “final match” for the team, who would beat the Frenchmen 2-0 to secure a spot in the playoffs of the $1.4 million competition.
