Heroic, Na`Vi and Immortals head to IEM Katowice

Heroic, Natus Vincere and the Immortals are the last to fill the lists of teams participating in IEM Katowice, which kicks start early next month.

It will the fifth consecutive year that IEM visits the Spodek Arena in Katowice as the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive segment is held from the beginning to the 5th of March. 12 teams will feature as they try to land a $250,000 prize pool.

However, Heroic’s reach into the main event through the European qualifiers was both unprecedented and impressive given that their opponents in the decider series was G2 Esports.

While both teams underwent roster changes, G2 had been the one with the significant advantage with their roster being dubbed a “super team”. But, fortunately for Heroic, the Danish squad was able to defeat G2 in two straight maps in order to secure their spot in Poland for next month’s event.

They will join the likes of Natus Vincere and the Immortals, the former of whom secured its spot earlier after defeating Heroic in another convincing 2-0 victory.

As for the Immortals, who now fields former SK Gaming lurker Lincoln “fnx” Lau, only lost a single map throughout the qualifier and dominated Team Liquid twice to claim the sole North American spot.
