Valve has announced the official date for the The International 2017 as the biggest annual Dota 2 event returns to KeyArena in Seattle.
While the main event will run from August 7 (Monday) to August 12 (Saturday) for the fourth year running at the KeyArena, tickets will already be on sale next Tuesday, April 4 at 10AM PST.
In addition to the main event, the dates for The International 2017 open qualifiers has also been announced to take place from June 22-25, while the regional qualifiers runs from from June 26-29. The group stage running period has not been announced as of yet, although all previous years saw the event allocate an entire week for it.
Midweek Tickets, which offer access to the August 7-10 days of the event, will be available for $100. Finals Tickets will cost $200 and offer access to the final two days of the event, August 11-12.
Ticket sales will be limited to five per household, and there will be no VIP ticket option this year.
Valve representatives said last month that the company might move this year’s International series out of the US due to changes in Visa rules, but now it appears to not be the case. However, whether teams and participants would be affected by passport and visa problems remains to be seen, as it had happened so often in the past.
Meanwhile, the prize pool for the seventh International installment has also been left announced. While it will grow through crowdfunding with the sales of various associated merchandise on Steam, it would be a considerable achievement of surpassing last year’s prize pool of $20.4 million.
