Alliance has brought in a new member in Axel ‘Pablo’ Kallman as the TI7 roster lock looms.
The last few days had saw the departure of Jerry ‘EGM’ Lundkvist from the Alliance roster, and in his place comes Pablo who will primarily play as position 4 support alongside fellow support Simon ‘Handsken’ Haag.
The Alliance roster now looks thus:
- Jonathan “LodA” Berg
- Linus “Limmp” Blomdin
- Jonas “Jonassomfan” Lindholm
- Axel ‘Pablo’ Kallman
- Simon “Handsken” Haag.
Before now, Pablo had been a mid player before switching to semi-support. It was after TI5 that Pablo had served as an official substitute for Alliance, before joining Horde — Alliance’s unofficial sister team — just half a year ago.
However, Pablo would enter the Alliance first-team roster as the team struggled and failed to qualify for any of the major summer LANs and is no longer considered a top European squad.
The Swede would also have little time to mold himself to fit into the team as qualifiers for The International 7 is expected to take place next month, without mentioning the fact that his debut has gone awfully wrong — in his first full game as a member of Alliance playing yesterday in the LootBet Invitational, the team had lost 1-2 to ProDota.
Nonetheless, Alliance and Pablo will have a chance to get back on their feet when they face the Russian organization, Effect, in a lower bracket elimination match. And while many would discount Alliance’s chances in making it back into the elite ranks of Dota 2, Pablo himself is most certainly not short of determination, evident in his statement when joining the team:
“I’m super excited to get the chance to play in Alliance. I will do my absolute best to live up to the expectations and help Alliance become one of the top teams yet again!”
