Mousesports, EnVyUs and Renegades grab last spots for DreamHack Malmo

The qualifiers for DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017 concluded with Mousesports, EnVyUs and Renegades grabbing the last slots to the $250,000 CS:GO event.

The trio will join twelve invites and China team B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape — winners of the Asia-Oceania qualifier — at the Malmo Arena in Malmo, Sweden to battle for the lion’s portion of the lucrative prize pool from August 30th to September 3rd.

Mousesports, after having survived a scare against Space Soldiers in the quarter-finals, booked their spot at DreamHack Masters Malmo by defeating FlipSid3 2-0 in the European closed qualifiers for Malmo, with Robin “ropz” Kool and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong putting in impressive performances.

On the other hand, while the French ensemble of EnVyUs did drop maps against underdogs like Heroic and Playing Ducks they were solid against their final opponents in HellRaisers, winning 11:16 and 13:16 on de_Inferno and de_Overpass respectively.

Renegades then rounded of the list of teams entering Malmo after a close encounter with Team Liquid in the North American regional qualifiers. Although their opponents started well and even won Renegades’ first map pick at de_Mirage, Justin “jks” Savage stepped up and inspired his team to turn the series around with 19-17 and 16-12 wins on Cobblestone and Train, respectively.
