DreamHack has unveiled four of their invites to the Stockholm Masters event, with SK Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, FaZe Clan and fnatic set to join the upcoming $250,000 event.
DreamHack had previously announced the Masters event that is set to run from August 29 to September 2 in the city of Stockholm, where 16 teams will compete for $250,000 in cash prizes.
There is little doubt to SK Gaming’s credentials for their invite with their runner-up finish to Virtus.pro at DH Masters Las Vegas in February, although they did slumped at the Malmo Masters, where they placed 5th-8th after losing to G2 in the quarter-finals.
As for NiP, after the Europeans lifted a Masters title in 2016 they went out 3rd-4th and 5th-8th last year, in Las Vegas and Malmo, respectively.
As for fnatic, the Swedes will be headed to Stockholm hoping to improve on last year’s 9th-12th place finishes at DreamHack Masters events. They are not alone in producing inconsistent results, however, as FaZe have yet to finish better than 9-12th at a DreamHack Masters event following three attempts.
The four invites meant that there are now 12 spots left to fill at DreamHack Masters Stockholm, with four of those spots will remain to teams invited directly, while the remaining eight will be determined by open qualifiers, which have yet to be determined.
Tickets to the event are currently on sale.
