Mineski takes final direct invite spot to ESL One Birmingham

Mineski have received the final direct invite to compete at the ESL One Birmingham Major.

The SEA team, who won their first Dota 2 Major of this Pro Circuit season on Sunday, will be joining Evil Geniuses, Virtus.pro, Newbee, Team Liquid and ViCi Gaming in attending the first Major to be held in the United Kingdom.

The current Mineski roster have had touch and go results in the 2017-2018 Pro Circuit season, ranging from 12-14th at Bucharest Major to champions at PGL Bucharest and most recently at DAC 2018.

But with their historic victory at DAC, they are now sitting in a comfortable 4th place in the DPC rankings with 3150 points, and are almost 1000 points ahead of the 5th place team — with Newbee scheduled to attend EPICENTER XL Major and MDL Changsha Major.

“The team of the hour has just finished an amazing run at DAC 2018, securing themselves their first Major trophy of the Dota Pro Circuit,” the ESL announcement of Mineski direct invite read.

“Thanks to their recent success, their victory at the PGL Open Bucharest Minor at the start of the season and a couple of Top 4 finishes, they have now passed the likes of Newbee and Vici Gaming for fourth place in the current DPC rankings, giving them a comfortable position when it comes to TI8 invites.”

ESL One Birmingham will feature 12 teams and has a prize pool of 1$ Million and 1500 Pro Circuit points.

The Major is scheduled to begin on the 23rd of May, with qualifiers for the six regions underway before the end of the month to determine the last teams to join the fight.
